Ministry/Group Name: Guest House Commission: Church and Society Mission/Purpose: To further the understanding of homelessness and engage parishioners to a deeper understanding of justice and compassion. Regular Activities: On every Third Friday of the month 3 to 4 SS Peter and Paul Parishioners are needed to support the staff at the Guest House from 6:00PM to 9:00PM. We assist the staff in the dispensary by handing out towels, bed linen, underwear and various grooming items. We also assist at the volunteer window where men come to pick up various type of clothing, to register to talk to a social worker, sign up for wakeup calls and assist in making telephone calls. Spiritual Growth/Benefits of Participating in this Ministry: To obtain a deeper understanding of how Jesus emulated for us the power of helping those whom were considered outcasts of society. It is through this ministry that we truly become Christ to so many men in such a short time with them. To learn not only to work with them but also to play with them so there is an understanding that they are not forgotten. Specific Requirements to Consider if Participating in this Ministry: A willingness to be open to whatever the Spirit leads you to. Donations of men's clothing and hygiene always needed and appreciated. Donations can be dropped off at church any time.
