Dear Parents,
The pastoral staff and parish leaders at Ss. Peter & Paul are dedicated to
providing a full and meaningful experience of our Catholic faith for you and
your family. We want to make you aware of some options and
opportunities that are available on Sunday mornings for families with young
children. If you have any questions or would like further information
about these, or any other parish programs, please call Monica Meagher at the
Rectory Office, 962-2443.

Sunday Morning Pre-School: Each year, from October through May a
special religious education program is offered for children 3 through 5
years old during the 11:00 a.m. Mass The mini-curriculum guides the children
through a series of topics that follow the church year: prayer,
saints, thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas, baptism, Noah's Ark, Ash Wednesday,
Lent, Easter and May Crowning. The program is directed by Tracy
Osborne and the classes are taught by volunteer catechists. Registered
parishioners with children between the ages of 2 and 5 will receive an
invitation letter each Fall. All are welcome and may receive

Children's Liturgy of the Word: On first and third Sundays at the
11:00 a.m. Mass during the school year, children between grades 1 and 7 are
invited forward before the first reading. After a blessing by the
priest, the children and one of four mom-volunteers process downstairs.
Children are gathered in a circle and after an opening prayer, the volunteer
reads the first reading and the Gospel from a children's Lectionary.
The volunteer then leads a reflection on how these two readings tie into the
children's own lives. After the reflection, children participate in
the Prayers of the Faithful and the service ends with the sign of the cross.
The children return to church in time to bring up the gifts at the Offertory
procession. All the children re-join the congregation fro the Liturgy
of the Eucharist. No registration is necessary to participate - simply
encourage your children to go forward at Mass when invited by the priest.
